A team of Fluidmaster colleagues lead by our Sales Manager Geoff Young, recently took part in a 50-mile charity bike ride to raise money for local family-run charity the Logansaurus Trust.

In May 2023, 10-year old Logan Henderson sadly passed away from a sudden, aggressive brain tumour, just 6 months after his diagnosis. His mum Lauren Henderson has since set up the Logansaurus Trust, a charity which will provide a safe space for grieving families and offer support and understanding to those affected by similar situations.

To support Lauren’s fundraising efforts several members of our Hereford-based team were keen to organise a charity bike ride. On 17th August the group of volunteers cycled a 50 mile route from Marlbrook Primary School in Hereford to Abergavenny and back.

Our Sales Manager Geoff Young was instrumental in organising the event. He was joined by several members of the team including award-winning local fundraiser Andrew ‘Buddy’ Holley plus Laura Jenkins, Matt Henderson, Quinton Baker and Jordan Whitrow.

Said Geoff: “Lauren is making it her mission to help families who find themselves going through the same pain that she and her husband did and to build on the legacy that her son Logan left. We wanted to show her support by raising money for the Logansaurus Trust’.

The bike ride was part of a wider fundraising event, the Logansaurus Picnic, which saw the community come together to honour Logan. It was a fun-filled family day which celebrated the joy and positivity which Logan will always be remembered for.

Said Lauren: “Fluidmaster has always been such a supportive and empathetic company which Matt and I have so much appreciation for. During our darkest time Fluidmaster tried so hard to make it easier for us and now with the support for the event, we  have no words to express our gratitude.

“Logan passed from DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma). He was diagnosed on the 14th November and after six weeks of Radiotherapy survived until 6th May. DIPG is a rare cancer that affects children, usually only before they turn eleven. This cancer has not had any positive results for treatment in decades and is still very underfunded.

“The Logansaurus Picnic first and foremost had to be a happy event, filled with life and happiness which Logan projected onto others. I believe we did just that and with the help of Fluidmaster we made it even bigger.”
