Laura’s Wye Valley Trek for St Michael’s Hospice, Hereford
Laura Jenkins from our marketing team recently completed an incredible 40-kilometre trek through the scenic Wye Valley, in support of St Michael’s Hospice in Hereford.
With a passion for adventure and a heart for helping others, Laura Jenkins of our Fluidmaster UK team has committed to several fundraising challenges over the past few months. Her most recent adventure saw her joining in a 40km trek, to celebrate 40-years of outstanding hospice care at St Michael’s Hospice in Hereford. The trek was undertaken by Laura and her close friend Jen to raise awareness and vital funds for the hospice, a place that provides compassionate care to those with life-limiting illnesses and supports their families during difficult times.
The Wye Valley trek was no easy feat. Laura faced winding trails, steep climbs, and unpredictable weather along the route. She admitted that there were moments where the challenge felt difficult, after twisting her ankle on the first part of the trek. But encouraged by the donations she had received for St Michael’s, she pushed through and completed the significant distance.
By the end of her journey, Laura had not only completed the trek but also surpassed her fundraising target, raising over £300 for the hospice. Said Laura: “Thank you to everyone who supported Jen and I by donating to this excellent cause. St Michael’s is a wonderful hospice and everyone who comes into contact with the St Michael’s team feels safe and supported throughout their journey.
“I hope that sharing our fundraising activities inspires others to get involved, whether through donations, volunteering, or participating in their own fundraising challenges.”
